Biography
Irving G. Tragen, who turns 101 in this year 2023 is still going strong and has written his first novel “Mañana Is Yesterday.”
After years of technical works on Inter-American Affairs and his autobiography, “Two Lifetimes as One: Ele and Me and the Foreign Service,” Irving has shaped a novel about a powerful woman who makes the wrong choices at a critical moment and turns the clock backward, making “Mañana Is Yesterday.”
Irving was born in San Francisco, California, in 1922. He earned his AB and JD at the University of California Berkeley and spent the next 55 years immersed in Inter-American Relations with the US Department of State, the Organization of American State and as a consultant. His late wife Ele and he lived in seven Latin American countries, and Irving had assignments in almost every country in the Western Hemisphere. Today he strives to keep abreast of regional developments through the World Affairs Council in San Diego and the University of San Diego Center of Mexican-US Studies.
Irving continues to expand his mind enjoying plays, the ballet, music and reading classic literature. Fun under the sun in his home in beautiful San Diego, California yet now is ready to hit the book circuit sharing his wonderful novel “Mañana Is Yesterday” with the world.
